I belong to a yahoo group that has nothing to do with
deaf people. One of
the people in the group sent a post asking for help for her
daughter who is
a boy scout troop leader.
Her daughter is having a hard time with the communication
barrier between
the parents (deaf) and the child (also deaf). They do have 1
hearing child,
but they said that having that child interpret is not an
option.
They are in the Cheswick, PA area and are looking for
someone to volunteer
to translate.
If you know anyone who might be interested, please contact
me so that I can
pass the information on to this woman for her daughter. If
they don't find
someone, their child will have to not participate in
extracurricular
activities. They are having the same problem with softball.
Thanks,
Debbie Dilks
